The United States Aids TO Navigation System (USATONS) is a critical component of the United States Marine Transportation System (MTS) for reducing transit collision and grounding risks as well as maintaining maximal shipping and vessel capacity in US waterways. The ROADRule USATONS is a truly unique and useful quick reference tool. It provides surprisingly comprehesive information about buoys, markers and lights, as well as rules of the road and maneuvering and warning signals for US waters in a compact, easy to stow, format. It summarizes some of the most frequently used information contained in NOAA US Chart 1. The ROADrule takes a large amount of complex information and makes it easy to understand. Whether in a classroom or at the helm, critical decisions can be made quickly and with confidence with the aide of ROADrule. Its design is similar to a slide-rule. By moving the slide, various vessel right-of-way situations can be displayed. (Refer to left side of upper image.) Versions of ROADRule are also available for European Inland Canals and International Waters. • Identifies the most common US aids to navigation • Displays 38 navigation aid definitions • Displays 12 Rules of the Road in both diagram and text • Identifies bridge lighting & signals and Intracoastal Waterway markings • The various buoyage markers are drawn in color to match the chart symbol • Actual view of maritime buoyage systems with corresponding chart symbols • Displays order of priority for right of way for all vessl types • Integral magnifying lens for clear readability of definitions • Durable two-sided black PVC construction • Dimensions - 16" x 5-1/4" • Stores in a vinyl sleeve and fits nicely in a chart table
